Implication of Jasmonic Acid on Physiological Alterations on Salt Stressed Fodder Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.)

چکیده
One of the main environmental factors that restricts growth and productivity sorghum is salt stress, which interferes with physiological processes including relative water content, NBI (nitrogen balance index), photosynthetic rate, etc. Agricultural land affected by soil salinity growing significantly worldwide, therefore, strategies are needed to improve tolerance most efficient one can be opted studying response against salinity. Salt stress reduced plant hormones such jasmonates, ABA, brassinosteroids, In order assess effects jasmonic acid (JA) (4.5, 6.5 & 8.5 mM) on properties (HJ 541 CSV 21F) grown in saline (4, 6 8 dS/m), green house experiment was executed a complete randomized design (CRD), three replications. The results shows adversely effected efficiency, chlorophyll antioxidants (anthocyanin flavonoids), nitrogen index, ash content used as suitable parameter for determining stress. While, foliar application improved stomatal conductance, Jasmonic concentrations mM had more noticeable effects. Percent enhancement transpiration 14.5% 13.4%, 16.7% 19.9%, 42.0% 58.0% HJ 21F, respectively at dS/m compared control. 21F performed better all levels after acid.

PhD thesis Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench), the fifth most important cereal crop in the world, is one of the most important staple crops in Africa and South Asia and represents the only viable food grain for many of the world’s most food insecure people. However, sorghum grain shares the typical nutritional deficiencies of cereal grains, a low content of several essential amino acids. There...

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of various levels of phosphorus fertilizer on the yield and nutritional value of sorghum fodder at three cuttings. The experiment was conducted by using 4 levels of Phosphorus fertilizer viz. 0 (T0) 40 (T1), 80 (T2) and 120 (T3) kg TSP/ha in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). A significant effect (P<0.01) of phosphorus fertilizer application...

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) is one of the globally important cereal crop after wheat, maize, rice and barley. Sorghum is a unique crop among the major cereals and the staple food and fodder crop of the world’s poor and most food-insecure populations, located primarily in the semi-arid tropics. Sorghum is grown on 43.81 million ha area in the world, producing about 65.42 million tonnes grain wi...
